DOES OUR LICE TREATMENT HAVE A GUARANTEE?

Yes, we remove head lice from your child and all members of your family with the guarantee of our work so that you can go back to work or school, with the assurance that you are lice-free. Our treatment comes with a six-week guarantee after your initial lice treatment appointment.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR SCREENING AND LICE REMOVAL TREATMENT?

Fees are based on hair length. The charges are per head, and with a little information from you, we can provide the exact fee. Our In-Home lice screening is $150 checking the person with lice and all household members (3+) and for a single person is $50. Nit removal and lice treatment start at $165 - $260.

WHAT IS ASKED OF THE CLIENT TO MAKE A PROPER DIAGNOSIS OF HEAD LICE?

The client is asked that before arriving at the appointment at home, the hair must be clean, dry, and detangled.

 

HOW LONG DO THE LICE AND NIT REMOVAL PROCESS TAKE?

The lice and nit removal process takes 1.5 - 2.5 hours but can take longer, depending on hair length and degree of infestation.

 

WHAT ARE HEAD LICE?

They are parasitic insects that are found on people's heads. Head lice are very common, each year around 6-12 million people in the world have head lice.

 

WHO IS AT RISK FOR HEAD LICE?

Anyone who has close contact with another person with head lice, or with contaminated clothing and other belongings, is at risk for head lice. Preschool and elementary school children, together with their families, are the ones who are most often infested. Girls get head lice more often than boys and women more than men. In the United States, African Americans rarely get head lice.

 

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CHECK FOR HEAD LICE?

Routinely check your child’s head for head lice and nits. Part the hair all the way down to the scalp in very small sections, looking both for moving lice and nits. Look at the entire head this way. Look closely around the top of the neck and behind the ears, the most common locations for eggs. The main symptom is an itchy scalp from lice bites. The bits may appear red or crusty.

HOW DID MY DAUGHTER GET HEAD LICE?

Children acquire them by coming into contact with an infected person. Contact is common when playing at school and at home (sleeping in other houses, sports activities, summer camps, playground) This contact can occur by wearing infested clothing such as hats, scarves, coats, sports uniforms, hair ties, or by using infested combs, brushes, or towels. Contact can also occur by lying on a bed, sofa, pillow, rug, or stuffed animal that has recently been in contact with an infected person.

 

MY DAUGHTER WEARS HER HAIR IN BRAIDS, CAN SHE STILL GET HEAD LICE?

While wearing hair in braids or tied back can help, it is not going to prevent getting lice a bug crawls onto her hair. It could make it harder for the louse to stay on the head but do not assume that wearing hair tied back or in braids is going to prevent anyone from getting lice.

 

IF MY CHILD HAS SHORT HAIR CAN THEY STILL HAVE HEAD LICE?

Yes, the length of hair does not matter. Anyone with hair can have lice or nits.

 

WHAT DO HEAD LICE LOOK LIKE?

Head lice are insects about the size of a sesame seed and may be clear, reddish brown, or black in color. Lice quickly away from bright light. For this reason, it is usually easier to detect.

 

CAN HEAD LICE BE PREVENTED?

Yes, checking the children's heads daily and passing a nit-removal comb. Avoid sharing combs, headbands, pillows, hats, and coats.

 

WHAT IS THE LIFETIME OF LICE?

Lice need to feed on blood. An adult louse can live about 35 days on a person's head but will die in two or three days if it falls off. The female louse is usually larger than the male and can lay 6-10 eggs, two times a day. Lice have a strong survival instinct.

 

CAN PETS GET HEAD LICE?

No, lice only live on people’s heads.

 

WHAT IS THE MOST FREQUENT SYMPTOM WHEN YOU HAVE HEAD LICE?

The most frequent sign of its presence is scratching of the hair, it can be so intense that it often causes severe itching and irritation of the skin of the scalp.

 

MY CHILD HAS HEAD LICE, CAN HE GO BACK TO SCHOOL?

He can return to school once the pediculicide treatment has been carried out since it is effective from the first application. But the child must continue to wash his hair with the lice removal shampoo and lice removal conditioner every other day for 2 weeks.

 

HOW TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NIT AND DANDRUFF?

Dandruff separates from the hair easily and goes away with a simple wash, nits do not.

 

CAN WE KNOW IF THE NITS HAVE BEEN IN THE HEAD FOR A LONG TIME?

Lice lay nits at the base of the hair. Therefore, the further they are from the base of the hair, the longer they will have been on the head and they will have already hatched or be dead.

 

DOES LACK OF HYGIENE ATTRACT LICE?

No, lice prefer clean hair to better attach themselves to the hair, reach the scalp sooner, and start feeding.

 

ARE CHILDREN INFECTED ONLY DURING SCHOOL TIME?

No, throughout the year.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH THE STUFFED ANIMALS THAT ARE ON THE BED?

If stuffed animals are on the person's bed with lice, put them away in a plastic bag, in a spare room, and out of your child's reach for 3 days, or put them in machine wash in hot water and tumble dryer on high heat for 30 minutes.
